تدور الأحداث حول (ماري بوبينز) المربية الخارقة التي تنتقل دوماً بواسطة شمسيتها، يطلب منها السيد (بانكس) أن تحضر إلى منزله كمربية أطفال في أسرة يغلفها الملل والبرود، فتستخدم قواها السحرية، وقدراتها الخفية في إضفاء المرح على الأسرة وعلى المساعدة في أداء مهمتها.
